What do you think about a living room adorned with your submissive ? Naked or equipped, she’s there to please you and obey orders ! We started our shooting day with this domination session … a long one for the french girl exploring submission. I had no assistant and decided to avoid rope bondage, focusing my work on the power exchange between Miss Léa and Anaïs.
I think you will like my idea to use the slave as human furniture behind the curtain … it was really interesting. A latex corset, hood, and collar are always nice for fetish photography. July 1st, 2006, we conducted a session that I had prepared with Anaïs, who shared her desires during our exchanges preceding each week-end. It was the beginning of a sweltering summer, the heat was palpable in the room despite the air conditioning, intensified by the tungsten lighting that was permanent during the shoot. I preferred this lighting to the flashes typically used for studio photography … this overheated room presented an additional challenge for my models who were accustomed to being under the spotlights.
Anaïs and Léa already knew each other. My muse had assisted the gothic girl during a previous session, which helped create an appropriate atmosphere. For Léa, it was her first duo experience, but she seemed perfectly at ease in her role.
I had in mind a precise composition and several shots focused on the contrast between these women. Anaïs started the session completely nude to accentuate the gap between one dominant and her submissive in a domination situation. You’ll notice the disappearance of her shoes in the second image, as if the first instruction received had been to remove them. Anaïs then honored Léa’s boots before beginning to don her outfit.
G-string and latex corset for Anaïs before her face was covered with a hood made of the same material … Léa wore an ensemble combining lace and vinyl, including this red and black corset she owned. Gloves were added to echo Léa’s high-heeled boots, who also wore a choker matching her outfit. Anaïs bought this accessory for our models and returned to the shop after discussing her find with me.
Léa then equipped Anaïs with a thick leather collar lined with metal, locked with a discreet but effective padlock. The submissive retrieved the high heel shoes she had removed to present herself nude to her Mistress.
The main idea was then explored : Anaïs positioned herself behind the couch, leaning against the living room wall, a veil separating her from Léa sitting on the sofa. This staging, almost theatrical, consisted of using the submissive as a decorative element. Anaïs was objectified by means of a wooden frame containing the reproduction of a photograph by Kurt Hutton … the 1938 shot depicted a hotel commissionaire talking to a small dachshund in Piccadilly Circus, London. I thought this pet would be perfect for this domination game.
Once in place, the scene could continue. Léa begins to read a fetish magazine, Skin Two, which I regularly received as an advertiser. Meanwhile, Anaïs waited, feeling the muscle tension in her arms holding the wooden frame that weighed a certain amount with its thick but fragile glass. The static position, standing on her high heels, let my viewer imagine the slow fatigue and insidious pain that the submissive could feel in such a situation.
This impression is reinforced by the next step of our session. Anaïs gets on all fours in front of Léa, who resumes her reading after threatening these buttocks with a riding crop. The submissive is then used as a footrest for her Mistress’s boots : human furniture is one of my favorite ways to play in power exchange.
The staging incorporates the codes of domination and submission as I discovered them in my youth, then in real life as an adult, as a spectator, through the lens, and finally as a Master. This photo series is a tribute to codified rituals that give charm and rare elegance to the BDSM universe when practiced with refinement & an aesthetic from another time.
The session continues with the submissive face down, in a waiting position. Léa places the sole of her boot on Anaïs, at the top of her skull. The power exchange is total, and this gesture reinforces the feeling of domination. I must specify that Anaïs was fascinated by this imagery : her fantasies were multiple, she explored several ones during our sessions. If Anaïs had already been tied up and spanked by me, teased by Mina, her favorite partner, she had not yet experienced one complete session in the role of the submissive … this desire was nicely present in the strong mind of my muse.
The exploration of this game between two women, one dominant, the other submissive, allowed Anaïs to feel, or better represent, what the power exchange really means. Throughout these years, I avoided placing myself in this role of Master that I know well : this scenario could be similar with a man but the visual & mental impact would be different. That’s why it seemed necessary to always keep a distance and limit myself to the role of initiator, sometimes severe but always jovial, so that no discomfort would settle towards me.
