There is something unique when you have the chance to tie a girl for the first time … I have been lucky many times, including when Suzy emailed me. She knew my website and was interested in the BDSM universe. So, after a while, Suzy decided to cross the line. We exchanged several messages and found the right way to make her first shooting very cool. Suzy wasn’t living in Paris then, so I met her when she came for the photo session. I took the time to speak with her before picking up my camera.
Suzy wanted to be bound, and I quickly understood she felt comfortable with the ropes. After a few minutes, the 22-year-old woman was totally immobilized, like every french girl should be ! She was nicely flexible and had the strength to bear her first shibari for 50 minutes … not bad for a beginning, isn’t it ?
After this, she discovered something easier with a classic position, but I added a nice ropework taking her crotch. I bet you will love this like Suzy enjoyed it. We ended in the evening, and both of us were happy with all those pictures. She was shy and had limits, but we did a nice session. Suzy’s journey into the BDSM universe is an interesting story of artistic exploration and personal growth. This fascination began with the film “Belle de Jour ” directed by Luis Buñuel in 1967. Featuring Catherine Deneuve as Séverine Serizy, a young housewife who secretly works as a high-class prostitute, the film’s portrayal of bondage and fantasies had a profound impact on Miss Suzy, sparking a deep curiosity about the practice.
For additional context, I reviewed my email archives. Suzy’s background in Theater Arts and years at the Conservatory greatly influenced her physical and emotional perspective. Early classical dance training, with its demanding and structured nature, shaped views on the body and discipline. Four years prior to our session, Suzy ceased ballet practice, feeling a void left by the physical sensations and disciplined routines. The structured, sometimes painful aspects of dance had created a dependency, and a longing for the “twists” and “stretching exercises” that had been integral to the routine.
Suzy’s attraction to ropes stemmed from this void. Despite never having practiced it, bondage felt like a missing piece for the french student. Her body, accustomed to “suffering” through classical dance, with muscles pushed to their limits, now craved those torsions and stretches once again. Suzy described a self-created dependency on dance and a constant search for those lost sensations, believing shibari might provide what was sought.
Before reaching out to me, Suzy left several comments on my blog. Shibari was viewed as a form of physical expression akin to dance, with poses described as “choreographies of the body” … the aesthetic and ritualistic aspects of bondage resonated deeply, seen as close to the world of theatrical and artistic performance. Suzy perceived a mysticism in the practice, likening it to a magical ritual allowing one to go beyond oneself – similar to yoga, martial arts, or out-of-body experiences. The sensation intrigued, seeming both soothing and a pathway to self-transcendence.
The submissive position and eroticism inherent in bondage, coupled with its connection to ancestral japanese art, further piqued Suzy’s interest. In my reply to her initial message, I explained the mood of my work : she appreciated this philosophy & answered talking about the playful spirit of Betty Page’s mischievous tied-up poses. Suzy has been appealed by this playful aspect, viewing it as a game and appreciating the similar tone in my photography.
In preparing for the session, concerns about navigating parisian transport and selecting appropriate outfits emerged. A humorous mention of fear about getting lost due to unfamiliarity with the city provided insight into an adventurous yet cautious personality. Suzy brought favorite outfits but was open to trying other clothes, expressing a particular interest in latex & corset.
Insecurities about appearance also surfaced. Often feeling perceived as too delicate or small, these concerns had previously deterred modeling attempts. Despite these reservations, excitement about the shibari experience prevailed. While not ready for fully nude bondage or certain implements, Suzy expressed openness to gradually exploring and expanding boundaries, driven by a love for learning and experiencing new sensations and emotions.
The session offered both physical and emotional challenges, leading to a profound sense of liberation and self-discovery. Suzy found the bondage experience genuinely enjoyable, despite a natural reserve in expressing emotions. Our shibari pictures captured a flattering and authentic representation, boosting her confidence. Suzy’s boyfriend also appreciated these images, noting a captivating new side – a tempting gaze and pose he hadn’t seen before – which reinforced a sense of accomplishment and eagerness for further exploration.
Initially hesitant to express feelings, Suzy acknowledged the need for time to truly open up and share experiences. This reticence wasn’t from a lack of enjoyment but stemmed from a tendency to internalize feelings, finding it challenging to articulate profound emotions. Often perceived as cold or distant due to her reserved nature, Suzy also appreciated the mystery it maintained.
Each session promised deeper self-discovery and emotional growth, marking the start of a secret & intimate journey. As trust builds and comfort grows, Suzy anticipated becoming less self-conscious and more expressive, gradually embracing new aspects of bondage and self-expression.

Suzy is one of these young women who got a good education in the middle class … she wasn’t living in Paris but in another french city which is known for its culture and eclecticism. That’s one of the reasons why Suzy was a little bit different from some others girls that I shot. First, she contacted me talking about her need for pain : it was pretty unusual but an efficient way to introduce herself !
Like a lot of shibari lovers, her childhood has been focused on dance. She wasn’t connected to any underground universe and didn’t like metal or industrial music like Anaïs or Greta. No, Suzy was a normal woman who didn’t explore her kinky side before becoming an adult. She was a student, loving literature and some intellectual movies. It’s through these old movies that she has been attracted by some situations where the girl is under control or dominated by someone else.
But, she was looking innocent, angelic, romantic … her real nature is close from this reality. Suzy had a lot of questions in mind and her body was burning to know about some situations. I helped her to gradually discover shibari and a lot of other fantasies : she was able to be submissive, keeping her elegance & dignity. Maybe that’s why it has been interesting to play with Suzy more rather than others.
Our first session remains strong in my mind : it has been the beginning of a story full of sweet memories … different, tricky but priceless.
